I work in a community mental facility.
One day a client lost his temper and was about to punch another client and a staff member who intervened.
Using what I learned in the non-awareness set, I asked the client, "What do you have in your fist?".
Looking puzzled he replied, "Nothing."
I then said, "I think you have a feeling in that fist, what could that feeling be?".
At this point, the client began to become more consciously aware of his anger, behavior, environment, situation, and potential consequences, which helped him regain self-control and calm down before it was too late.
